Anne Somers

Anne fuses glass ornaments from her studio in Kelso.

She uses a special type of glass to create a variety of pictures, ornaments, bowls, jewellery, lights and sculptures. She loves to experiment, try new things and generally just have fun with glass, finding it very versatile and colourful.

Stephen Lennon

Stephen has been running his small business umbellifer.co.uk since 2018, selling his botanical and nature inspired artworks and cards to gift shops, galleries and gardens throughout the UK. He works in pencil and ink and adds colour by painting digitally to create his distinctive style.

Fiona Morris

Fiona's work emerges from her fascination with intricate and flowing organic forms, linked to the sea and seashore. Beginning with close observation drawings, she uses hand-building techniques - slabbing, pinching and coiling - and a variety of clays to create decorative and/or functional pieces in 3D or relief.

Denise Playfair

Denise has 10 flocks of rare breed sheep and does her own shearing and grading of the fleece. How each fleece handles decides what it will be used for, either felted, woven or as stuffing for cushions. The fleece is made entirely by Denise into woven or felted rugs, cushions or scarves. 100% ethical, traceable, renewable and sustainable.

Rachel Meehan

Rachel trained as a Fine Artist (Printmaking) and completed her post graduate studies at Glasgow School of Art. Her current work primarily involves two mediums: scraperboard and lino. Rachel utilises her designs in cards, prints, fabrics, coasters and decorative papers. Her garden is her biggest inspiration and she enjoys the process of selecting specimens, sketching them, developing the design and capturing the colours. She lives and works in Birgham in the Scottish Borders.

Karla Pierce

Karla's love of weaving natural materials started with plant supports in her own garden. She has studied with renowned basket makers in the UK, Ireland, Spain and Denmark and has trained at Westhorpe College in Shropshire. She now teaches, runs workshops and accepts commissions from her studio in the Scottish Borders.

Deborah Fallas

Deborah studied clothing and business worked in the clothing industry and craft making before returning to painting, something she had done since childhood, ten years ago. She paints landscapes and flower studies in acrylics and loves bright, bold colours in quick, expressive brushstrokes. Deborah sells her work online, in selected galleries and at art fairs and events in the Scottish Borders.

Clair Norris

Clair has been working with ceramics for over twenty years having graduated from Nottingham Trent with a decorative Arts degree. She loves to make in slightly unconventional ways and enjoys introducing other materials into the ceramics making process: paper fibres, old lace and fabrics. Working mainly with white earthenware Clair's work ranges from the large scale “Lasting Impressions” mosaic at the Margaret Kerr Unit to decorative hand painted tiles and colourful horizon vessels.

Pat Young

Pat makes unique and organic jewellery, employing lost wax casting and fabrication techniques, often combining gold and silver with precious and semi-precious gemstones and beads.

Janet Cleghorn

Janet worked for a long time in the textile industry, painting only occasionally but, since 2010, she has principally been a still life painter working in mixed media.

Her still life paintings feature "treasures" - textile samples, embroidery, lace, china, old bottles...collected over the years. Fruit and flowers placed with these give freshness to the groupings. These arrangements are looked upon from an aerial perspective and she works quite methodically from the base completing one "level" at a time. The importance of the fabrics and their construction within the paintings reflect her past in textile design. The aerial view allows the shapes and patterns to be flattened and refined and traditional subject matter takes on a quirky more contemporary feel
